Course Description
This course equips supervisors with the knowledge and skills needed to make reasonable suspicion determinations in compliance with 49 CFR 382.603. Participants will learn how to identify signs of alcohol misuse and drug abuse, document observations, and handle difficult situations with confidence and professionalism.
- Understand the regulatory requirements for reasonable suspicion determinations under 49 CFR 382.603
- Observing, confirming, documenting, confronting, and testing
- Recognize the warning signs of alcohol misuse and drug abuse, including their effects on the body
- Develop techniques for approaching drivers and easing tense situations during confrontations
